Now it’s time to make some hard decisions, such as selecting the right photographer or videographer, to preserve this momentous event.
These are some of the more frequently asked questions for wedding photographers/wedding Videographers. (Some answers apply Specifically to Abacus Studios.)
(Q) How long have you been in business?
(A) Abacus Studios has been in business since 2004. We have established ourselves as a premier photography studio and video productions company. Our impeccable reputation can be verified through the many great reviews we have received over the years, earning Abacus Studios, The Knot Hall Of Fame status, for our annual selection to The Best of Wedding Vendors Award and Wedding Wire’s Couple’s Choice Award.
(Q) How many hours of photography do you provide for a wedding?
(A) Abacus Studios provides 10 hours of photography coverage with most standard photography packages. We also customize packages based the specific needs of your event, and will pro-rate the package price to add or subtract hours to your event.
(Q) How many photographers are included in your packages?
(A) Abacus Studios offers one photographer with all our packages, and the option to add a second photographer for a half a day or a full day, as needed. Partial day coverage is an excellent way to make sure you capture the groom preparation and bridal preparation.
Q) How many photographs will the photographer take on the wedding day?
(A) Abacus Studios does not limit our photographers on your wedding day. You can expect an average of 800 +/- images and close to double that if you have two photographers.
(Q) Do you color correct or edit your images?
(A) Yes. It is our belief that you are hiring professional photographers, who should have the proficiency to understand how to capture a perfect image. We are proud that very few of our images require any color correction, but for that that do, we will absolutely make the corrections you request.
(Q) Can we select a photographer or videographer?
(A) Yes. You can request a photographer or videographer. Photographers and videographers are reserved on a first come first serve basis. All Abacus Studios Photographers, are seasoned professionals, who have years of experience and dozens of reviews, to ensure you are working with the best.
(Q) Do I have the copyrights to my photographs?
(A) Yes. You will receive all of your High Resolution Images with Full Reprinting Copyrights on DVD or USB or Dropbox.
(Q) How long after my wedding will I receive my photographs?
(A) You will receive your photographs the week after your wedding. You will also receive an e-mail with your online gallery information and a direct link to share with family, friends and through social media.
(Q) Do you archive your photographs?
(A) Yes. Every photograph, album or video created by Abacus Studios is stored and backed up to our servers. If you ever lose your images, simply call us and we will mail out another copy.
(Q) Do you offer web hosting of my images?
(A) Yes. the week after your wedding you will receive an e-mail with your online gallery link and password. You can also access your online gallery through the Proof tab on our website. Your online gallery will allow you to select images for your album, purchase prints, and share images on social media.
(Q) Do we have to come in to the studio to book your service?
(A) No. You do not need to come into the studio. If you know the package that you would like, you can simply e-mail the studio with your request. You can mention any promotions you may have received for the packages you selected. You will then receive a contract to review via e-mail. You can then either call in with a credit card or mail in a check for your initial deposit. Once your payment is received, you will receive a studio signed contract, invoice indicating your deposit and original credit card receipt for your records.
(Q) Are You insured?
(A) Abacus Studios is insured by The Hartford. You will need to make sure your photographer is insured and can supply the proper proof of insurance to your wedding or event venue.
(Q) How are your payments collected?
(A) Our payments are collected in thirds. The first third is due upon contract. The second payment is due approximately 2 months before your wedding or event. You will receive an invoice about three months before your wedding. The final payment is due by the last business day before your wedding or event. You will also receive an invoice 30 days before the final payment is due. Abacus Studios will always work with every client and couple to ensure they are comfortable with a payment plan. We never charge interest and can customize a payment plan to your specific needs.
(Q) What forms of payment do you accept?
(A) We accept all forms of payment. All major credit cards are accepted.
(Q) Do you charge a travel fee?
(A) No. Abacus Studios does not charge a travel fee unless, traveling to NYC, Philadelphia or an extensive distance from central New Jersey.
(Q) What if my wedding is canceled?
(A) If you wedding is canceled you will not lose your deposit or any payment made toward your wedding. Your payments will be applied to a future date, for when the wedding is re-scheduled.
(Q) What if my photographer get sick or is unable to make my wedding?
(A) Abacus Studios will only capture two weeding per any given day, allowing us to have staff available in the event of an emergency.
(Q) Do you offer engagement shoots?
(A) Yes. Abacus Studios offers, “Off Sight” engagement shoots at the locations of your choice.
(Q) Do you offer Albums?
(A) Yes. Abacus Studios offers a wide variety of custom, seamless, flush-mount wedding albums, with your choice of leather, acrylic or photo covers. Each album is custom designed and offers you unlimited design changes, ensuring the album will look exactly the way you envisioned it. (Abacus Studios also offers, press books, modern albums and matted albums.)
(Q) What other services do you offer?
(A) Abacus Studios offers Photo Booths, (Closed and Open Air), Step and Repeat Photography, Green Screen, Flip Book Stations and Dove Release.
